    Referred to as 'the cause,' among other misleading titles, the menstrual cycle's purpose is vast, both physically and metaphysically; a holistic experience in which each vital aspects (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual) of the girl or woman play significant roles in the process of the menstrual cycle. In this course, we will look at how her physical body, emotions, thought process and belief system affect the health of her cycle. In addition, we will examine the menstrual cycle and the effect it has had on societies, leading up to present day, in which artificial methods now exist to stop or pause the cycle. Seen as an inconvenience in many cultures, we will gain insight into the effects these methods have on the body and society.

    We will explore more details of the cleansing process and how factors, such as diet, stress and environment contribute to its effectiveness and health of the girl or woman. Natural therapy modalities will be provided as resources to support her health, in general, and during her time of cleansing. These modalities include many ancient health care approaches, now experiencing a resurgence in modern day society. They are gentle, easy to use and have no adverse effect on the body.

    The physical body communicates to us every second of the day, it lets us know when we are hungry, thirsty, tired and much more.     In this course, we will explore how miscarriages and cesarean births can affect the physical health and psychological of the woman (and her baby). We will examine key, powerful changes she can implement to assist carrying full-term till the birthing process. Areas from dietary lifestyle, hormonal support to womb and emotional/spiritual healing will be presented as focal points to wellness and balance.

    According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), miscarriage is the most common type of pregnancy loss. This can have a devastating effect on families as they anticipate the joy of conception and a full-term birth. Hormonal problems, lifestyle (smoking, malnutrition), reproductive challenges, maternal and paternal age are cited as some of the possible causes. In addition to the physical possibilities, becoming aware of the emotional sources places mothers and fathers-to-be at an advantage. This awareness broadens their capacity to connect to the reason and purpose of their miscarriage and how to prevent future miscarriages.

    The same holds true for experiencing a cesarean (c-section) birth. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that the rate of c-sections should not exceed 15% in any country. This percentage has grown in different parts of the world, for example; 25% in Latin America and the USA, and 46% in China. This may be due to physical challenges and/or request by the mothers. There is a growing trend in requesting a c-section due to fear of fully-experiencing one's body and emotions and/or due to the body's lack of complete healing from a previous c-section.
