If you are subscribed to a forum it means that you will receive email copies of messages posted in that forum.

You should be able to unsubscribe by going into the forum and clicking on the 'unsubscribe from this forum' link in the top-right corner of the screen. Once clicked you can re-subscribe by clicking on the link again which will now have changed to 'subscribe to this forum.'

There is also a setting affecting subscription in your student profile. To minimize the quantity of emails you may receive from the Virtual Learning Environment you can change the automatic subscription option as follows:
  1. Click on your name in the Virtual Learning Environment
  2. Click on the Edit profile tab
  3. Click on Show advanced
  4. Change the Forum auto-subscribe setting to the following - 'No: don’t automatically subscribe me to forums'
  5. Scroll down and click on Update Profile
