Class Type: Holistic and Natural Health Student

Course Overview

Anti-Viral functions of Aromatherapy work when an herb's chemical compounds interact with one's nervous system. Explore how different anti-viral properties can assist in the healing of different viral conditions. Begin to understand how the chemical constituents that make up the essential oils affect the properties that are responsible for the healing qualities. Even though this class focuses just on the anti-viral effects, this is true with every property that is a part of any essential oil's make-up. As the classes progress and the practitioner to be comprehends how these properties determine the exact use of the particular essential oil, the ability to make a more effective blend is possible.

A brief history of essential oils throughout the ages will also be presented as a foundation for the development of present day Aromatherapy as used for its healing qualities. Even though this is available in many books and reading about history is important, an overview will open a new way of relating to the historical development of today's world of perfumes and the Aromatherapy world.

The melaleuca family of essential oils (Tea Tree, Niaouli, and Cajeput) is studied for their healing properties on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. There is a lot of information out there about why you should use a melaleuca product but in this class you are presented with three very important melaleucas and you will understand the similarities and differences.
